One of the hottest and most talked about games available for the holidays, would have to be the Skylanders series. The newest edition to the Skylanders games would be the Skylanders Battlegrounds iOS version for iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
The Mobile Starter Pack sells for $49.99, and it includes:
- Bluetooth Portal of Power
- Platinum Treasure Chest
- 3 Skylanders Figures
- 1 Download code for the full game.
If you didn't want to purchase the starter pack, you can always just visit the app store and purchase the game for $6.99. You don't need the characters to play, it just adds to the fun picking which Skylander you want to use!
The starter pack is a lot more fun, mainly because of the Bluetooth Portal of Power. The Portal of Power makes gameplay easier when it comes to switching your characters. Also the Platinum Treasure Chest is a special magical item that unlocks special items and abilities in the game.
My favorite feature of the Portal of Power is if you don't use it for 3 minutes it will enter sleep mode. I tend to forget to turn off accessories, so this is a nice feature for me.
I also love that I can play the game on my iPad at home, and my iPhone when I am on the go!
The gameplay is amazing on the iPad!
Playing Skylanders Battlegrounds has been so much fun, so far my favorite Skylander to use would have to be Cynder. Cynder is a female purple dragon that first appeared in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. She used to be bad, but Spyro defeated her so she became a Skylander herself. Her abilities are breathing dark electricity, and also turning into a shadow to get past enemies. One of her catch phrases are "Volts and lightning!"
We had so much fun reviewing Skylanders Battlegrounds, we are planning on downloading the other Skylanders games on the App Store!
